Lynch Nation

The film Lynch Nation documents some recent cases of lynchings by so-called "cow brigades" in present-day India. A team of filmmakers travels through a divided country to the victims of politically organised violence, mobs and fanatics who murder in the name of religion and the "Holy Cow". Since the Hindu nationalists (Bhartiya Janata Party, BJP) have been ruling the country, many members of minorities such as Muslims, Dalits and indigenous people live in insecurity and fear of persecution and lawlessness. In a heated climate of hatred, propaganda and fake news, "Lynch Nation" bring to attention the voices of those unheard.
