The gooeyTeam (Malve Lippmann & Catriona Shaw) addresses the flattened world of screens and digital media use since 2009. Combining performance, audience interaction and installation, they use simple materials, teamwork, a touch of elbow grease and cracking humour to ‘circle-tune’ 2D into 3D – circuit bending screen activity back into physical dimensions. Their award-winning workshops and performances have been presented in a variety of international venues, festivals and educational contexts.
Catriona Shaw is a Scottish artist and musician who grew up on the Orkney Islands. She is currently based in Berlin. Using drawing, performance, music and video, Catriona Shaw creates interactive or set environments which engage audiences throughout the creative process. As her main starting point, Shaw's drawings connect her different creative outputs and interests in popular culture, anthropomorphism, absence and social politics.
Malve Lippmann studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and at the Institute for Art in Context (UdK) in Berlin. As a freelance stage designer and artist, she has been internationally responsible for the design of numerous performances, opera- and theatre productions. Since 2010, Malve Lippmann has been working as a curator and cultural manager, leading artistic workshops and seminars and is active in various cultural- and community projects. She is co-founder and artistic director of bi'bak and SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA.
